A word alone gets its most common sense. Lexy reads the sentence you selected from — and keeps it, so your vocabulary is full of real examples, not definitions.

What does Lexy do?
Select a word in any Mac app and press ⌘C twice. Lexy shows the translation beside your selection and saves the word with its sentence to that language’s vocabulary.
Which Mac versions work?
Lexy is a native Mac app for macOS 26.1 or later. It lives in the menu bar and works in whichever app you are reading, so there is nothing else to set up.
What does it cost?
Your first 100 saved words are free, with every feature and every language. Pro is unlimited words, monthly or annual, and its price is announced at launch.
Which languages can I read and translate into?
All 35 on the wall above — Estonian, Finnish, Swedish, Greek and the rest of the Nordic, Baltic and Balkan languages among them. You translate into the language you think in, chosen once in Settings.
Can I use several learning languages together?
Yes. Declare the languages you read in, and each keeps its own vocabulary. A word goes to the vocabulary of the language its sentence is in, so switching between English and Estonian through the day needs no switching in Lexy. A word in a language you haven’t declared is refused, never guessed at.
What is sent to the server?
The words you look up, each with the sentence it was sitting in and the name of the app it came from. That goes to our server in Amsterdam, which is what syncs your vocabulary between your Macs, and the word with its sentence also goes to OpenAI, who produce the better translation. No account, no email and no name is attached to any of it, and deleting your data deletes it. The privacy page has the whole of it.
How do invitations work?
Lexy is invite-only for now. Join the waitlist with your email, and an invite with a code in it arrives when the next batch goes out. “I have a code” at the bottom of this page takes the code and unlocks the download.
